void life(void)

I haven’t posted anything in recent days on my blog because I’m anxious and tense about the appeals that were sent to ISO regarding OpenXML (and when I am anxious and tense, usually I’m not very rational with the stuff I write).

Next Monday is the the deadline to members of ISO’s TMB and IEC’s SMB to send their votes and decide the future of the appeals submitted by Brazil, India, South Africa and Venezuela. Using a simple, but a very simple approach, there are two options: discard them or take them forward.

For those who want to understand better and have more details regarding this vote, I recommend reading this post on Rob Weir’s blog (he is always rational with the stuff he writes :) ). It is also Interesting to still see the Rob’s view about this whole mess, because he is a JTC1 member and also was present at the BRM, with US delegation.

It is obious that I would like to write much more stuff here, including my guess on the outcome and the explanations for it, but learned in recent months to have more patience with things… and it sucks !!!

As soon as I receive news about the result, I’ll post here.
